Welcome back to the start of a new school year. It is lovely to see everyone back, full of energy and ready to start the new term and I hope you all had a wonderful summer break. A very warm welcome to our new Reception children who are just beginning on their exciting new journey. We are very much looking forward to getting to know our new pupils and the parents. If you have any questions as a new parent about the school please do not hesitate to ask.
We have been working together to create a new school motto that reflects our values. Our new school motto is:
Believe Inspire Achieve
As a school we feel that these 3 core values underpin what we do. Over the next few weeks we will be discussing them with the pupils in class and assembly. You can read about our values and vision on our school website.
As always we have lots of exciting events planned for the term ahead. Don’t forget that you can keep up to date on events through our website and on the school Facebook page.
We have some new teaching staff joining our school team this year and I know they will be made to feel very welcome as they start at Christchurch. Miss R. Dyer (Yr1), Mrs P. (Yr3), Miss H. Patel (Yr4), Mrs N. Mahmood (Yr4) and Miss A. Hassan (Yr5).
School Gate Times
8.30am – 8-45am
3.10pm – 3.35pm
Please remember that pupils should be supervised outside school before the gates are open. When the playground gates are open all external building doors will now be electronically locked. If you require access to school please go to the main Reception desk at the front door. At lunchtime all parents will now be asked to drop and collect their children from the gates.
It is vital that your children attend school on a regular basis as missing school does have an impact on their education. The London Borough of Redbridge has a very strict attendance policy. In accordance with Government guidelines, leave of absence during term time will not be granted except in the most exceptional circumstances. Requests for leave must be made in writing to the Headteacher prior to any absences being taken. Permission cannot be granted after the leave has been taken. For leave of absence taken without permission you may be issued with a penalty notice of £120 per parent per child (reducing to £60 if paid within 21 days). If you have any questions regarding absence please ask a member of the office staff.
It is also important that all pupils attend school on time everyday. If they are late for lessons they can miss vital learning. If your child arrives at school after the close of registration this will be recorded as an unauthorised absence. Penalty notices may be issued for persistent absences (7 or more in one half term).
